JPEG actively engages with research, industry, government, standardization bodies, and public sector stakeholders through dedicated events and initiatives. This page provides an overview of upcoming activities related to JPEG Trust.
ICIP 2026 - JPEG Trust Watermarking Benchmark
The IEEE International Conference on Image Processing 2026 will host the grand challenge “JPEG Trust Watermarking Benchmark”, aimed at assessing watermarking performance under a comprehensive and standard-aligned evaluation framework.
The challenge evaluates key aspects such as embedding distortion and robustness against attacks, following the evaluation criteria set out by the JPEG Trust Part 3: Media Asset Watermarking initiative. The benchmark provides an open and reproducible framework to compare watermarking solutions in realistic scenarios, fostering interoperability and measurable trust performance.
CEPIC 2026 - Addressing Media Authenticity Challenges in Cultural Heritage with JPEG Trust
The session “Addressing Media Authenticity Challenges in Cultural Heritage with JPEG Trust” will be organized during CEPIC 2026 on Friday 8th May 2026 at 10am CEST in Valencia, Spain.
Ensuring that digitized cultural heritage assets can be created, accessed, and reused in trustworthy and sustainable ways requires sound underlying principles, internationally recognized standards, and practical implementation strategies.
This session will present good practices illustrated through the lens of JPEG Trust, an ISO/IEC standards framework designed to support media authenticity, integrity, and trust assessment. Particular attention will be given to safeguarding long-term reusability across cultural heritage workflows, including scenarios involving AI-assisted digitization, restoration, and enhancement.
